In Nigeria, elections for the governor and house of representatives are now taking place, three weeks after the 2023 presidential election.

Nigerians have been promised free and peaceful elections and were urged to come out in masses and elect the governor of their choice in their respective states.

However, this might not be the case in some states as party thugs come out to cause havoc in polling units.

According to a video online, Thugs destroyed election materials at Filling Safari Mazugal Ward, Dala LGA in Kano State.

Voters can be seen in this video lamenting over the horrible incident that took place in the polling unit.

Nigerians have reacted to this saying that the Nigerian security system is weak.

Check out some reactions;

A user wrote, "They were sponsored by the Kano state government".

Another wrote, "this is the story of the Nigerian election as being conducted by the @inecnigeria. A very shameful exercise. Help the poor and the oppressed Nigerians to speak up against it by any means possible. Thank you".

A twitter user wrote, "thugs in babariga and agbada. They are everywhere both in the streets and government offices".
