Although Bola Ahmed Tinubu was officially named the winner of the 2023 presidential election, it is notable that he was one of three frontrunners, along with Peter Obi and Atiku, who each won 12 states in Nigeria. Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council Akin Osuntokun has responded to what appears to be a coincidence by saying that it is highly unlikely (unlikely) that all three presidential candidates will win the same number of states (12), and that this unlikely event can be used to advance an intellectually fraudulent argument.
Akin Osuntokun said he has a very low opinion of INEC and was not surprised by the election results because he never expected much from INEC.
This is what he actually said:
"You can exploit the highly unlikely possibility that APC, PDP, and LP will each win 12 states to advance a shaky line of reasoning, but that's about all you'll get out of it. I've never thought highly of INEC."
