Meet The 6 Nigerian Air Force Women Of WAR
Ever since the history of Nigerian Airforce, it has proved beyond paperwork. This is because it has broken the barrier of gender inequality.
In Africa, especially in Nigeria, some jobs are exclusively reserved and preserved for male folks. One of such jobs or professions is Nigerian military.
In the past, military jobs were a no-go-area for women partly for religious, and cultural reasons.
Whatever the reasons for women's stereotype in such jobs, the glaring fact remains that more women are now breaking the jinx against all odds to venture into them. Those bold women are not only defying odds but are doing excellently well in their chosen jobs.
In this article, I will make mention of six of such women in the Nigerian Air Force, their stories, and what motivates them into joining the Nigeria Air Force which is predominantly dominated by men.
The six of them are tagged '6 Nigerian Air Force Women of War' because of their involvement in combatant operations.
The names of six of them are shortlisted below:
1. Flight Lieutenant Blessing Liman.
2. Flying Officer Genevieve Nwaogwugwu.
3. Flying Officer Olubunmi Ijelu.
4. Flying Officer Kafayat Sanni.
5. Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile.
6. Flight Lieutenant Chika Ani.
Flight Lieutenant Chika Ani was as at that time ill were the six Nigerian women of war were unveiled.
We just lost Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile few days ago to an unfortunate accident. Arotile also narrated her story before her death. Except NAF Arotile whose face is familiar to Nigerians, other five officers are not known by most Nigerians.
Here are what the remaining five NAF women said about their career and what keeps them moving.
Flight Lieutenant Blessing Liman
What a man can do, a woman can do better! Well-done women like men.
