NDDC: "Probe Must Continue, Whether He Fainted Or Not" - Nigerians Want Probe To Continue
Many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their anger and disappointment on the Acting Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Prof. kemebradikumo Pondei, for 'fainting' while he was being questioned on the spendings of the commission.
The Acting Managing Director of the NDDC had fainted on Monday 20th July, 2020 while he was being grilled by members of the house of representatives on the spendings of the commission, which brought the grilling to a sudden end. The grilling was part of an on going probe by the members of the house of representatives on financial misappropriation in the commission. However, many Nigerians believe he was only pretending. They wondered why is it that anytime they are called to come and give accountability to Nigerians on financial dealings, they would suddenly fall ill.
Some of the reactions by Nigerians are given below:
@paulimmas, "Probe must continue, whether he fainted or not"
@dolire0, "He nor hard naw..... Nay faint no be death. Revive him and let's start from where he fainted because we must watch THIS SEASON finish"
@DareOyegbola, "If you're being quizzed about misuse of public funds and you don't have any logical response, then you suddenly fainted are you an ACTING MD?"
@LawalAfolabi2, "We would always see this whenever they are told to come forward to explain how money was spent, even they cime into court with wheelchair. naija syndrome"
@Cossisunshine, "I'm from Niger Dekta., this man fainted deserve to be jailed forever, since I was born unto this day my community in Ikom, Cross River State don't even know what's electricity nor hodpital nor nor water."
@Emmanue41720182, "Professor Daniel Pondei lived up to his position of 'actibg' MD of the NDDC by the 'fainting' stunt he pulled off to escape answering question by the house of reps committee probing the NDDC"
