The federal minister of communication and digital economy, in person of Sheikh Dr Isah Ali Ibrahim Pantami has meet with the deputy secretary general of the United Nations, Hajiya Amina J. Mohammed. The duo met at the office of the honourable minister which is located inside the ministerial complex at Abuja Central business District. The deputy secretary general of the United Nations was accompanied to the ministry by her team of experts who specialised in various fields of information technology. The visit by the deputy secretary general of the United Nations was centered on strategic planning and discussion towards partnership in information technology.
Hajiya Amina J. Mohammed used the opportunity to take tour of the ministerial complex including strategic offices. She then proceeded to the office of the federal minister Sheikh Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami and had discussions with relevant stakeholders. This is indeed a very fruitful discussion that will ensure more developmental goals in the country and enhance the public engagement in the field of information technology and other progressive projects.
Sheikh Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has brought immense contribution to the Nigeria's digital sector. He was the director general of the national information technology development agency before Mr president subsequently appointed him as substantive minister. His vast experience has brought so many transformation in Nigeria there by increasing revenue for the federal government through digital economy. As a successful Islamic scholar, sheikh Pantami continue to lead Friday prayers and sermons.
Hajiya Amina J. Mohammed was also an ex minister of environment during the first tenure of president Muhammadu Buhari. She resigned her position to take job at the United Nations headquarters in New York. She is the first female Nigerian to become the deputy secretary general of the United Nations. This is why she is considered as a role model by many Nigerians.
