Politics in Nigeria is never easy at all. If you do not have a god father, it becomes tougher for you. Nigerians have come to see politics as a game for individuals who desire their personal interest but use members of the public, especially the average ones, to achieve their aims.
The story of god father-ism thrives in almost all the states in Nigeria. However, Lagos seems to be a more potent example. It is tough task if any individual chooses to lead Lagos state without the influence of the former governor of Lagos state, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
It is quite worthy to note that Ahmed Bola Tinubu has been instrumental in the governorship elections of the state. From Babatunde Raji Fashola, his successor, to Akinwunmi Ambode, and to Babajide Sanwo-olu, one can see the Tinubu power at play.
Nevertheless, some Nigerians have decried this attitude of Bola Tinubu being the sole determiner of the governor of Lagos. However, who would break the jinx is a story for another day.
What do you all think of the Tinubu power play in Lagos? Share your thoughts.
