The Department of State Services (DSS) spokesperson Dr Peter Afunanya, raised the alarm to uncover plots by some subversive elements to invite religious war across the Country especially in Lagos, Sokoto, Kaduna, Oyo, Rivers, plateau and South-East States.
Part of the plans to cause religious violence in the Country is to use foot soldiers to attack some worship centers, religious leaders and vulnerable points.
The DSS has said that they will do everything within the bounds of the law to stop the plot and ensure peace and unity across the Country. They promised to work hand in hand with other security and intelligence agencies in the Country.
The DSS advices Nigerians to be vigilant as they go about their daily activities, he also said that Nigerians should be mindful of antics that may be used to cause religious violence across the Country. Citizens are encouraged to report suspected breaches of peace around them, to the nearest security agencies.
