A former Imo East Peoples Democratic Party Senatorial aspirant, Hilary Ugochukwu has explained the reason why he dumped the PDP for the ruling APC. Hilary in his response disclosed that it was the achievements of Governor Hope Uzodinma in Imo State that led to his decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress.
According to Hillary, who was speaking in an event, organised in his honour by the leadership of APC in Owerri on Sunday, revealed that his decision to join the APC was borne out of the quality leadership style of the Imo state governor, Punch Newspaper reports.
In his statement in the reception, he said, “I am filled with joy based on what our able governor did in the space of his short period in office. I am one of those well-meaning Imo citizens that believed that Uzodimma has performed greatly well.”
While appreciating the governor for the wonderful works he has done to restore peace and security in the state, Ugochukwu urged the people of the state to continue to support the governor in his journey of making the state better.
In his statement, the APC leader of the zone, Lemmy Akakem told journalists that the decision of Ugochukwu to work with Governor Hope Uzodinma is evidence that the current administration in the state is on the mission to make the state great.
