Bola Ahmed Tinubu is still a strong contender who may succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023. The APC chieftain is not yet ready to give up on his presidential dreams, and he is doing everything possible to stay healthy and possibly return to politics before campaigns for the 2023 general elections kick start in the country..
The former governor of Lagos State is still in London for medical treatment, and prominent APC members, including the president, have already paid him a visit. Tinubu hasn't spoken about his presidential ambitions, but it's widely assumed that he still has his sights set for the presidency.
If he decides to run, there are qualified candidates from the north that he may choose as his running mate. Let's take a look at three of these candidates and see how they may help Tinubu sway APC to victory in the northern region.

Boss Mustapha is the current secretary general to the government of the federation. He has attained success working in the presidency and with the president for many years now. So, he will be a right candidate to run with Tinubu if he has the opportunity.
With his large followers, he can win votes from his region in favor of Tinubu. His principal will also be happy to see him run for vice president seat because he has worked for the unity and coexistence of the country, and the president will greatly support him.
2. Yakubu Dogara

Former speaker of the house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara is another possibility Tinubu should consider as his running mate for the presidency in 2023. He served as speaker of the lower chamber for many years and has the necessary experience to run for one of the highest office in the country.
Dogara still has a large number of allies in the national assembly who will be ready to support him if he decides to run as Tinubu's running mate. As a result, the two will be able to work together and sway APC to victory in 2023. Dogara's supporters will automatically vote for Tinubu if he becomes his running mate.
3. Simon Lalong

Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong will be rounding up his tenure in 2023, and the APC's chieftain would be an excellent running mate for Tinubu if he chooses him. The governor is currently in his second term in office, which means he has gained enough experience that can help him canvass for votes from his supporters and people of the state.
So with his political clout and considerable followers, Tinubu should consider working with him for the upcoming presidential election.
