"Will You Vote For A Nigerian Female President In 2023?" See Reactions On Twitter

For sometime now,the topic of gender inequality has continued to be discussed in various areas of life, politics and political positions included. This is due to the fact that only men have ruled Nigeria ever since the country got her independence in 1960,and even before then. The question then arises to know if the country 'Nigeria' will be better led by a woma-led administration,in other words,a woman president.

Considering the current happenings in the country in the past few months, which comprised of EndSars protests across the federation and the massive looting and shop destructions that followed it,many people are of the view that what Nigeria needs now is a female president, one who will be compassionate enough to listen to the cries of the masses.

Instablog9ja,a popular Twitter blog conducted a poll whereby people were to choose who they would like to rule them in 2023. Majority of the reactions vouched for Okonji-Iweala, the elected DG of the World Trade Organization, while some went for Oby Ezekwesili, another influential politician in Nigeria.

Ngozi Okonji-Iweala,the first choice of most people,is an influential politician in Nigeria, having served as a minister during the Jonathan-led regime, and lots of other important political positions. Her latest appointment which she got months ago is that of the DG of the World Trade Organization,a feat that made Nigeria proud.

Mrs Oby Ezekwesili on the other hand is also a former Minister,an economist and a political activist just like Okonji-Iweala. She is ranked among the top female political bigwigs in the country.

Different people gave their opinion and views based on the matter, with a few saying that competency is all they need, not minding the gender of the candidate. See some reactions of people.

Who would you vote for in 2023? A female presidential candidate who is capable? A male candidate with a good track record? Or a young person to manage the affairs of the nation?
