Over 60 LP Lawyers Storm INEC Office To Inspect Election Materials

Following its dissatisfaction with the outcome of the just concluded presidential election, the legal team of the Labour Party has arrived at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja to inspect materials.
Channels TV reports that the team are currently meeting with officials of the commission.
The meeting with INEC officials, which is being held at the Commission’s national headquarters, is aimed at commencing the process of inspection of electoral materials used for the February 25 presidential election.
The team, with about 60 lawyers, was led by Dr Livy Uzoukwu. They are expected to brief journalists after the meeting.

Dogara Clears Air On Return To APC

Former House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara has refuted claims that he’s back in the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain on Monday responded to an enquiry by DAILY POST.
“It’s complicated. I am supporting candidates not parties,” Dogara replied.
Dogara was at the weekend seen with the APC governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Sadique Abubakar.
The 63-year-old retired Air Marshal was Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff from July 2015 to January 2021.
Dogara is being courted by politicians because he played a major role in the PDP’s defeat of the APC in the 2015 gubernatorial poll.
Nigeria's Economy Loses N20trn Over Naira Crisis

The Director of the Centre for the Promotion Of Private Enterprise, CPPE, Dr Muda Yusuf, said Nigeria’s economy had lost an estimated N20 trillion to the Naira crisis.
In a statement on Sunday, CPPE called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to end the suffering of Nigerians over the currency crisis.
The continued deceleration of Nigeria’s economic activities across all sectors is dangerous.
"Retail transactions across sectors have become straining and distressing as payment system challenges persist. Since the outset of the cash crisis, the Nigerian economy has lost an estimated N20 trillion," he said.
Parliament Speakers Urge Tinubu To Prioritise Youth Empowerment

Nigerian youth leaders, under the auspices of the Conference of State Youth Parliament Speakers, on Monday, called on President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to use his victory to make an impact in the lives of teeming youths who are ready to contribute to the development of the largest economy in Africa.
The PUNCH reports that the conference is an offshoot of the National and State Assemblies as established in the 2019 youth Policy Act, whose vision is to create a platform for developing and empowering Nigerian youths to fully realize their potential to build leadership capacities, postulate actionable policies and implement community impact projects.
In a statement by its image maker, Fawole Opeyemi, the youth leaders urged Tinubu to embrace the philosophy of youth inclusion and empowerment across all the zones in his administration.
Ebonyi PDP Visits Family Of Slain Member

The Ebonyi Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Monday, paid a condolence visit to the home of one of its chieftains shot dead by gunmen during the February 25, 2023 elections in the state.
The victim, Mr Ozoemena Nkwuda, who was said to be the cousin to the Director-General of the Ebonyi PDP Governorship Campaign Council, Chief Austin Edeze, until his death, had a nursing wife with three children.
Nkwuda, 42, was murdered by suspected thugs in Ndiogbu-Ndieze, Inyimagu, in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, during the presidential and National Assembly polls.
The PDP governorship candidate in the state, Dr Ifeanyi Odii, who was represented by his running mate, Igwe Nwagu, described the deceased as a man of peace.
