Meet Danladi Umar, The Chairman Code Of Conduct Tribunal Who Was Recently Spotted Assaulting A Guard

Danladi Umar was born August 19, 1971, in Bauchi, North East Nigeria. He attended the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, where he graduated with a Law degree. In 1992, Umar was called to the bar. After graduating from the law school, Umar began his private practice as a lawyer in the chambers of Ayinde Sani and Co, Ibrahim Umar and Co, and Kanu Agabi and Associates. Danladi Umar later joined the Federal Civil Service as a Senior Legal Officer at the Federal Ministry of Justice. He also served as Assistant Legal Adviser in the FCT and Culture & Tourism.

He made legal history in Nigeria on September 18, 2015, by becoming the first judge in Nigeria to issue an arrest warrant to a sitting president of the senate, Dr Bukola Saraki. Furthermore, he was sworn in as acting chairman of the CCT at the age of 36. Furthermore, he was later appointed as the chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on July 11, 2011.

Recently Danladi Umar was spotted in a video assaulting a security guard in Bannex Plaza premises in Abuja on Tuesday 30 March 2021. A group recently called for the Chairman's arrest for this assault.
