According to reports, the Rivers State Independence Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has declared the Candidates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), as the winners of the Saturday 17th April 2021, Local Government Council Chairmen and Ward Councillorship Elections across the twenty three (23) Local Government Areas of the State.
Following the fact that the Rivers State All Progressive Congress (APC) Political Party, did not participate in the Local Government Council Chairmen elections, it made it a better opportunity for all the People's Democratic Party Candidates to emerge as the winners, since they didn't have any better opposition.
Reports stated that the Contesting Candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and their States Chairman had lamented bitterly stating that the election wasn't free and fair, as there was no open voting in some parts of the State. This is something we can not detect the truth of, as other PDP agents are saying there was election.
The Rivers Independence Electoral Commission (RSIEC), had announced the results for Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Asari - Toru, Degema and Andoni Local Government Areas and so far the winners are the candidates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). We are waiting for further results and we will update you as soon as they are announced.
