Dr. Kay Anyachor
The State Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Dr. Kay Anyachor (the Onowu of Ogboji) has repeated his call for the State chapter of the party to zone its Governorship ticket to the Anambra South Senatorial District. He made the call while addressing party faithfuls from the 7 Local Government Areas in the zone during an interactive meeting in his Palace. He opined that the zone has in the past shown adequate support to candidates from other zones necessitating the need for Anambra South to be supported this time around.
Flanked by the State Financial Secretary of the party, Chief Joe Offor (Otigbuinyinya of Ufuma) and Local Government Chairmen of the party from the zone, Dr. Anyachor also stated that the quality of aspirants from the zone can never be questioned noting that the zone has the best that the state can offer.
Dr. Webster Okonkwo
Addressing the gathering, the State Chairman of the party, Dr. Webster Okonkwo commended the enthusiasm of the party stalwarts in the zone and assured them that the party will always be fair in the conduct of its affairs. He thanked Dr. Kay Anyachor for being a great pillar in the party in general and Anambra South Senatorial District in particular.
The highlight of the occasion was the inauguration of the Forum of Local Government Chairmen of Anambra South under the Distinguished leadership of Apostle Mordecai Ndibueze. Inaugurating the forum, the State Chairman, Dr. Webster Okonkwo urged the Chairmen to come to the fore of the struggle to install an SDP-led administration in the state. He pledged his readiness to join hands with them in this direction.
The Chairman of the newly inaugurated forum, Apostle Mordecai Ndibueze thanked his colleagues for finding him worthy of leading the forum. He expressed readiness to take the party to greater heights in the Anambra South Senatorial District.
In attendance were all the party leaders in the zone including Chief Joe Offor (State Financial Secretary), Chijioke Okabekwe (State Youth Speaker), Mrs. Loveth Okpalaunegbu(State Assistant Women speaker), Frank Timothy (Chairman, Aguata), Sunday Nwankwo (Chairman, Orumba South), Anadi Vincent (Chairman, Ihiala), Chief Udeagha (Orumba South), Apostle Mordecai Ndibueze (Chairman, Nnewi South), IK Nwokolo(Stakeholder) among others.
