Joy Nunieh, the ex-NDDC boss has been trending for some time now. She was the former acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
She has been recently under siege for some financial misappropriation of funds under her administration, and has been expected to testify before the House of Representatives committee. On July 16th, her house was invaded by armed security men who wanted to whisk her away to only God knows where.
She was practically saved by Rivers State governor, Gov.Wike, who hurriedly dashed to her invaded residence, and took her away with him.
All this drama is not even the point of this article. It is apparent that madam Joy Nunieh has built for herself a well-structured residence and compound. Her compound floor was decorated with interlocked bricks, and a beautiful Mansion could be seen in the compound. But the street road that leads to madam Joy's beautiful house is an eyesore.
It is very disheartening that despite the under development witnessed around the major areas in our Nigerian communities, some government officials could extend their stingy nature to their own very Street roads leading to their own houses. But these people ensured that their own compound of residence stands out. It is now clearly apparent that Nigeria has a long way to go in terms of social amenities development.
Or how do we explain why a politician will choose to build our Nigerian roads when he or she has not built the street road to his or her residential area? Nigerians are really disappointed that some of our leaders have a poor societal development mentalities, and we hope to see that change very soon. Madam Joy should fix that road when all her troubles are over, she should be a good Nigerian and a role model.
