EFCC Arrests Ex-Power Minister, Sale

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested a former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman over alleged N22bn fraud.
According to competent sources, the former minister was arrested early Wednesday and was subsequently detained at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency.
The arrest is said to be in connection with the Commission’s ongoing investigation into alleged corruption in the execution of some power projects.

Umahi Swears In 4 New Commissioners

David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, has sworn in four new commissioners into his cabinet — 20 days before his exit from office.
According to NAN, the commissioners were sworn in on Tuesday at the executive council chambers, government house, Abakaliki.
The commissioners are Enekwachi Akpa, former senior special assistant (SSA) to the governor on local government, chieftaincy matters and rural development; Obianuju Aloh, former SSA to the governor on aviation and technology; Emeka Nwode, former SSA to the governor on legal matters; and Uchenna Nwankpuma, former special assistant to the governor on projects.
El-rufai Wants 80% For States, Revert To 1963 Constitution

Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has advocated a restructuring of the sharing formula of Nigeria’s revenue in favour of states.
He said if the revenue sharing is reversed to 20 per cent for the federal government and 80 per cent for states, the federal government will then relinquish most of its current responsibilities to the states.
El-Rufai, who spoke at the policy and book presentation in Abuja on Tuesday by Dr. Zainab Usman, Director of the Carnegie Africa Programme, said the new formula will be the only way citizens can hold governors to account.
Tinubu Meets APC's Consensus For Reps Leadership

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, met with the House of Representatives candidates for Speaker and Deputy Speaker endorsed by the All Progressives Congress.
Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, met with both Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Hon. Benjamin Kalu, endorsed by the ruling party for the House leadership shortly before he left the country for Europe.
In a statement by Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, Abbas and Kalu were presented to the President-elect by the Joint Task Team of the House.
