Governor Bala Mohammed Speaks
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has pledged his readiness to give financial autonomy to the judiciary in the state.
The governor made the pledge in Bauchi during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed acting Chief Judge (Grand Khadi) of Bauchi State Sharia Court, Mohammed Abubakar.
Mohammed, who said he was always ready to go by the judiciary’s tradition, which, he said, was predicated on justice and equity, noted that the judiciary was the last hope of the common man.

Tanko Sununu, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Healthcare Services, says a large number of resident doctors working in federal institutions are receiving multiple salaries.
Mr Sununu said this while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja over the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
SEC Raises Alarm Over Unregistered Online Platforms
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has warned the investing public to be wary of unregistered online investment and trading platforms facilitating access to trading in securities listed in foreign markets.
In a circular to Capital Market Operators issued on Thursday, SEC said its attention had been drawn to the existence of several providers of online investment and trading platforms which purportedly facilitate direct access of the investing public in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to securities of foreign companies listed on securities exchanges registered in other jurisdictions.
"I Have Done So Much For Cross River" - Ayade
The Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, says if he had his way all indigenes of the state would be included in the state’s payroll to stem poverty and unemployment.
Making this known on Thursday in Calabar during the Industrialisation Rally in support of his administration by eighteen council chairmen and councillors in the state, Ayade said he has created an opportunity for at least one person from each family in the state to be in government.
PDP Sends Message To Uzodinma
The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma as a failure following the coordinated attacks on security agents in Imo State.
Recall that gunmen on Monday morning attacked the correctional facility and police investigations department in Owerri, Imo State, setting them on fire and releasing over 1800 inmates.
The attackers, who operated between 1am and 3am also attacked a military base at Ukwuorji on the Owerri-Onitsha expressway, burnt a soldier in a car and razed four military operational vehicles.
