A lawmaker whose name is still hidden is reported by a hospital a hospital source to have turned the idea of being confined to an isolation centre.
The lawmaker whose sample was collected and subsequently returned positive has now refused to be isolated at General Sani Abacha Specialist hospital.
The source said“It was a running battle between us and the member of the State House of Assembly to move to the isolation center and he refused,”.
By this non - compliance by a member of Yobe,I strongly recommend that the controversial Infectious Diseases Bill should be passed in no time because the action of the lawnmaker has put the lives of front - line health workers and that of general populace in danger.
If an ordinary Nigerian can obey the law of the land, what then stops the lawnmaker who makes the law for all Nigerians.
A section of the NCDC Bill which gives power to a police officer or an enforcement officer to arrest anyone infected or suspected to have any highly infectious and be taken to hospital for isolation should have been applied in this regard.
Until next time, see you in my next story.
