The incumbent governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi recently made it known that only God knows what his political future holds in the 2023 general election, he unveiled this on Sunday when he spoke to Thisday Live which happens to be an interview programme on Arise television. However, a report from Punch News reportedly said Fayemi presidential campaign posters went viral in August 2020, and it has in return sparked a lot of controversies and public debates on various social media platforms regarding the possibility of his candidacy in the forthcoming general election.
Meanwhile, when Fayemi was asked on Sunday whether he would be running for President in 2023, he replied by saying that he has a job to do, and he wants to finish well as the governor of Ekiti state. He further declared that he wants to do more to put his state, Ekiti on the pedestal of growth and development with the period that is left for him in the gubernatorial office, and what the future holds for him, it's only God that knows it, he added that he would be able to cross the bridge when he gets there, but for now his primary responsibility is Ekiti state. Fayemi also predicted victory for the All Progressives Congress in 2023. You will agree with me that Bola Tinubu as one of the potential presidential aspirants in the forthcoming election just as being speculated needs to be very swift and smart in his moves if truly he desires victory, although he is yet to make any public declaration to make the claim affirmative, but it's quite obvious that his actions justifies the course to some extent, and we all know that he shares the same political party with Fayemi, hence it is expected of him to see how can diplomatically play his card well in APC so as to have his agenda well sustained.
This article will be discussing what Bola Tinubu can do in regards to the recent revelation from Fayemi if he is truly he is serious with his presidential aspiration, the game of politics has it that in every rumor, there is always an iota of truth, and the statement of Fayemi is an indirect one as he is yet to affirmatively make his stand known, hence Bola Tinubu should see how he can have a step ahead of him.
What Bola Tinubu can do;
Firstly, the game of politics is always about number, as the politician with more people use to have more chances of victory compared to others, this is to say that Bola Tinubu should see how he's going to gather believers in APC which happens to be the party that joined him with Fayemi, hence when Bola Tinubu is able to get this done, it will aid his marketability ahead most of his counterparts, he can also achieve this by making sure he has most of the party members on his side, this will be helpful to him during slating should he later show interest for presidency in APC ahead 2023.
Secondly, Bola Tinubu is not expected to limit his capacity within his party alone, he should see how he can have believers across other political parties also, most especially their major opposition which is PDP, this will enable him to add to his existing capacity and give him an edge in return during the general election should APC eventually flags him off. More so, he would be able to bank on the support of his party and also share some factions of believers in PDP so far he play his cards diplomatically.
The year 2023 is an opportunity for Bola Tinubu to test the capacity he had built overtime, and for things not fall apart for him, he should see how he can make himself have a step ahead most of the potential presidential aspirants if he truly mean business with the presidential struggle, the revelation from Fayemi above is such an uncertain one which means he can bid for presidency and also let it go, hence consideration to the above stated points is such that can aid Bola Tinubu in terms of capacity building ahead 2023 general election should he choose to contest.
