2 Political Deals That PDP Leaders Can Make With Secondus Over His Lawsuit Against The Party

The leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) need to avoid any issue that will cause disunity among the members of the party as the upcoming presidential election approaches. The party has had enough internal crises already in recent times, and the leaders of the party need to quench the fire of any looming crises. Prince Uche Secondus has insisted that he will not be withdrawing his lawsuit against the opposition party over his removal.

Prince Uche Secondus used to be the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he was suspended in his political ward in Rivers State due to the fact that he allegedly engaged in many anti-party activities in his ward. He was suspended before he was later deposed as the national chairman of the party. Secondus, has taken the issue to the court of law and there have been pressures on him to withdraw the case, but Secondus has adamantly asserted that he is not going to withdraw the case.

As a political party that is still struggling for power in the year twenty twenty-three presidential election, the opposition party needs to avoid any form of internal crisis that will cause disunity among the leaders of the party. The stronghold politicians of the party need to make two political deals with Prince Uche Secondus over his lawsuit against the party. It is better for the party to do what will favour Secondus than to risk losing a case at this delegate time.

1. An Appointment

The first deal that the opposition party can make with Prince Uche Secondus is to give him an appointment ahead of the upcoming presidential election. Secondus is a politician that can represent the interest of the party at the national level. He can be given a slot to serve as one of the ministers that will come from the southern part of the country if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerges as the winner of the upcoming presidential election.

Secondus can then serve as a minister under the cabinet of the incoming president of the country if the president happens to be a member of the opposition party. If Secondus accepts this offer, he can then withdraw his lawsuit against the opposition party. The deal will be of benefit to both the deposed national chairman of the party and the members of the party at large.

2. Reinstatement

Another different deal that the leaders of the opposition party can make with Prince Uche Secondus is that they should reinstate him as the national chairman of the party, so he will be able to complete his tenure. His tenure tends to expire in some months to go, and then he is going to leave the chairmanship position of the party without any further questioning from any members of the party.

The acting chairman of the party can step aside and Prince Uche Secondus can come and continue his administration as the national chairman of the party. If the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can make any of these two political deals with Secondus, he can withdraw the case against the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
