Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has reacted to an alleged screenshot of her colleague, Laide Bakare, dragging her on a Whatsapp status that surfaced online. It is no news that the 2023 general elections had a couple of Nigerian celebrities being vocal and campaigning for their respective preferred candidates.
Iyabo Ojo had publicly declared that she was for the Labour Party while her colleague Laide Bakare supported the All Progressive Congress (APC).
In the multiple screenshots making the rounds, WhatsApp status updates carrying the name “Laide Bakare” can be seen slandering Iyabo Ojo on her choice of presidential candidate.
One of the write-ups in the screenshots read:
“Now that we are winning, if you talk, you collect %100. Doing live video as if she is a saint. I have my evidence,”
People felt these words were directed at Iyabo Ojo as she recently made a live video explaining why she was supporting the presidential candidate she was supporting.
Iyabo Ojo has reacted to this, saying that the screenshot were fabricated and were not from Olaide Bakare’s WhatsApp status update.
She said that in fact, her attention was drawn to the circulating screenshot by Olaide Bakare herself, and they were both shocked about it.
She further urged people to verify things like this first and stop spreading fake things on the internet.
