Umahi's Aide Resigns, Joins PDP

The Special Assistant, SA to Governor David Umahi on Youth Mobilization and Drug Control, Hon. Mark Onu, Friday resigned from being a member of the Governor’s cabinet and joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the State.

Onu, popularly known as ‘chopper,’ also declared his support for Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming March 11, governorship election.

The All Progressives Congress Campaign Council has accused the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, of taking advantage of the emotions of the Nigerian youth and riding on the wave of religiosity and ethnicity.

It said Obi would go down in history as the country’s “most dangerous and divisive politician”.


APC Chieftain, Onoh Begs Igbo In Lagos To Vote Sanwo-olu

The South East Presidential campaign spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Josef Onoh has pleaded with the Igbos residing in Lagos State to vote for a second term mandate of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the March 11 Gubernatorial election in the state.

Onoh said that Sanwo-Olu has shown affection and support for the Igbos in Lagos in the past four years and therefore deserves reciprocation from well-meaning Igbos who are good tenants and have over the years shown fidelity in project Lagos State.


Troops Neutralize One Bandit, Rescue 14 Victims In Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralized one bandit and cleared a criminal hideout in a fierce battle in Chikun Local Government area of Kaduna State.

The troops also, rescued 14 Kidnapped victims after the encounter with the bandits.


NLC Threatens To Shut Seaports Over Salary Review

The Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to shut down the country’s seaports if the federal government does not address some of the sector’s challenges including salary review.

Joseph Ajaero, the NLC President, stated this to newsmen during a courtesy visit to the President of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Adewale Adeyanju, in Apapa.
