Opinion: Why Buhari's Govt Should Arrest Ohanaeze Secretary Who Vowed To Declare Biafra in 2023

According to SaharaReporters, a secretary of an Igbo group known as Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has vowed to declare Biafra if the Presidency comes from the North in 2023. The statement was issued by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the secretary-general of the group.

However, Buhari's government should arrest the Ohanaeze Secretary who vowed to declare Biafra in 2023 if a Northerner becomes the president.

Why should Buhari's government arrest him?

As much as I understood the law, the Ohanaeze as a group doesn't have the right to threaten the government. The secretary should be arrested and questioned for endorsing and threatening to declare an unlawful and proscribed group.

Moreover, the Presidency is based on the candidate that wins the election. The Presidency is not meant for the west, south, or north. The person with the highest vote wins the election.

If they want a southern president, they should come and support a southern candidate to win the election.

In case you missed it, Okechukwu Isiguzoro also said that the Northern governors are being selfish with their clamour for the Northern Presidency in 2023.
