The leadership of the "Obidients Movement" in Ward 17 Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, today, Saturday, 4th March 2023 threw its weight behind the candidacy of Sen. Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the March 11 Governorship election in Rivers State.
Led by Apostle Adona Ihunwo and Mr. Okechukwu Nna, the group leaders said they have instructed their members across the ward to support Sen. Magnus Abe of the SDP because they believe he is the most credible of all the contenders for the Rivers top job.
In his speech; Apostle Adona said they came to identity with the SDP after due consultation with the members and leadership of the group in Obio/Akpor and in the State. According to him, the group has instructed its members to turnout en masse on Saturday and vote massively for Sen. Abe, describing him as the only candidate with a track record of excellence and who has a robust plan for the business community in Rivers State.
The group was received by King Wenenda Onukwuru, on behalf of the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ward 17 Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The king thanked the group for choosing competence, capacity and excellence over all other considerations. He also enjoined them to mobilise massively for the March 11 gubernatorial election and assured that plan are currently being put in place to ensure every vote counts.
