2 Reasons Why South May Not Find It Easy To Produce PDP Presidential Candidate In 2023.

It is no more news that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has made the Presidential ticket, open to every Presidential Aspirants of the Party, who might be interested to contest Presidential race in 2023, irrespective of the region, they might belong to.

It should be recalled that the National Chairman of the Party, was zone to the North and the former Senate President, Iyorchia Ayu was unanimously Picked as Chairman of the Party, through consensus by the Leaders of the Party.

It was reliably gathered that the Governors, under the Platform of the Party Pionered how Ayu became the National Chairman of the Party, through the Governor of Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom.

However, the PDP Leaders may not find it easy to Produce the Presidential Candidate of the Party, in 2023, due to some reasons that shall be discussed, one after the other.

One of the reasons is that, up till now, there is no formidable Presidential Aspirants, who have shown interest to contest Presidential race, under the Platform of the Party in 2023. Those Presidential Aspirants, who shown interest, does not have the nitty gritty to contest Presidential race and win the election.

Though, It was gathered that the former Senate President, Anyim Pious Anyim, who is from Ebonyi State, has shown interest to contest Presidential Race, under the Platform of PDP, but the fact is, those who have shown interest to contest the race may not have enough resources to do so.

It should be recalled that one of the chieftains of the Party, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, made it known that there is no credible PDP Presidential Aspirants in South, he stated further that the Credible Presidential Aspirants, under the Platform of the Party, are from the North.

Another reason why the South may not Produce Presidential Candidate of PDP, is that the North, has higher number of states than the south. The north has Nineteen states, compared to seventeen states in the north.

The number of delegates that will vote to Produce Presidential Candidate in the north, will be much higher than the number of delegates that will vote in the South. And the delegates from the North, will vote en mass for sole Presidential Candidate of the Party.

Meanwhile, the Southern delegates may not unanimously agree to vote for a sole Presidential Candidate of the Party. Therefore, the South, may not be able to Produce Presidential Candidate for the Party, in 2023.
