Fashola Did not Need Money To Convince Lagosians About His 2nd Term Election -Chidi Odinkalu
By Adegori22 (self media writer) | 27 days ago
A human rights activist, Chidi Odinkalu, has expressed his concerns regarding governors who may try to influence the election through money as they kick against the cash-redesign policy. Chidi recalled what happened to Babatunde Fashola in Lagos State during his interview with News Central.
Addressing the topic, Chidi said, "Fashola did not need to persuade anybody with money during his second term bid." Irrespective of what party or state you came from, most Lagosians believed that Fashola had done enough to earn a second term based on his performance. His performance spoke for him regardless of whether you were Igbo, Ijaw, or Ibibio.
He added, "How can you govern a place for eight years and still depend on vote-buying?" I do not see such an act in a positive light.
As the next election draws nearer, Nigerians have been advised to shun vote-buying and consider the consequences of who they elect.
