"I won’t leave office a failure" - Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly vowed not to leave office a failure. According to him, his administration would tackle the issue of insecurity bedeviling Nigeria before leaving office in 2023. He added that, he would continue to make changes in security architecture until he is satisfied with the outcome.

The statement was made before Nigeria security agencies who gave updates on security operations around the country, at the National Council on Security meeting held at the State House on Thursday, 19th August, 2021, by the President.

According to reports, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno, while addressing the State House Correspondents after the meeting, alleged that President Buhari expressed his determination to effect more changes in the security architecture of the country, if necessary.

He further disclosed that, owing to the relentless activity of the security agencies, Boko Haram members in their numbers are surrendering in the North-East. "Never had such large numbers leave the terrorist camp," he said.
