In a video interview that was conducted by the Arise Television News yesterday afternoon, it was reported that the former governor of Ekiti State under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Ayodele Fayose Peter, has claimed that he was disappointed in the party's presidential candidate in the just concluded presidential election, Atiku Abubakar because, he once spoke one on one with him at a hotel he lodged in Lagos State but, the latter refused to listen to him.
He said that before the presidential election that was held last Saturday, he was already seeing the danger that was ahead of the party in the polls due to the disunity among the two regions in the party but, Waziri did not listen to him but now, he has learnt his lessons the hard way.
He said, "Last year, Atiku invited me to his hotel in Lagos and I told him one thing but, he refused. I told him that the G-5 governors were making a demand that, since he is a Northerner, and Buhari is a Northerner, he should agree that he would only spend four years in the Presidential Villa so that, southerners will not have mixed feelings about his presidency, but, Atiku Abubakar refused. The people around him also refused the demand and they started giving him wrong advise including the party's national chairman. They said when he finally becomes the president of the country, he would announce to Nigerians that he would only spend four years on presidential seat."
