Jack Dorsey made this announcement on Monday morning on his verified Twitter handle.
His tweet read in part: “Twitter is now present on the continent from all over the world. Thank you Ghana and Nana Akufo-Addo to accept his request to establish the headquarters.”
Ghana president Responding to him on his verified Twitter account revealed that the partnership was agreed upon after a virtual meeting with Jack was conducted.
“The choice of Ghana as Africa Headquarters for Twitter’s operations is EXCELLENT news to all. The government and Ghanaians citizens welcome very much this announcement and the confidence reposed in our country as great.”
Nana Akufo-Addo welcoming the new development described the partnership as exciting for Ghana’s tech sector to operate with highly training personal.
“As I indicated to Jack Dorsey in our virtual live meeting which held on the 7th of this month, this is the start of a beautiful partnership between Twitter owner and Ghana, which is critical for the development of the country tech sector.
“These are exciting times to be in as the president of Ghana, and to do business around the country.”
