Sokoto Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has announced a 24-hour curfew to help restore peace and order in the state following violent student disturbance that resulted in the death of Miss Deborah Emmanuel, a Shehu Shagari College of education, sokoto.
In a press statement, the Governor noted that following the tragic tragedy at the Shehu Shagari College of Education on Thursday, and in light of recent developments in the Sokoto metropolis, he has announced a 24-hour curfew to prevent the situation from worsening.
The message, written by Malam Muhammad Bello, special adviser for media and publicity, and made available to journalists in Sokoto, urged residents to remain indoors and follow the curfew.
"By the powers bestowed on him by Section 176(2) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria's Constitution, hereby announced a 24-hour curfew to assist in the restoration of law and order in the state."
