Former Minister of Aviation and Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that evil eye has been focusing on Nigeria for sometimes now. In an exclusive interview which he granted to Root TV and videos of it shared on his Twitter account moments ago, he insisted that the insecurity such as insurgency, banditry, among others facing the country is not a Nigerian issue, but having a global-political undertone. He therefore blamed international community for what he terms as silence of conspiracy over killings and bloodbath in the country, especially in recent times.
He added that there are some cowards in the country who are interested in destroying Nigeria and as such, they are fanning embers of disunity.
"I am telling you. That evil eye has been focused on Nigeria for some time now. If you think that the whole situation we have been facing in the last number of years since 2007 when Obasanjo left(in terms of Islamist rebellion) is just a Nigerian problem, we are doing ourselves completely wrong. There is a much bigger picture to this. There are some cowards in this country that are interested in destroying, dividing Nigeria and calling of war because they know we won't separate easily. And they want to destroy us. They made a projection that by 2015, Nigeria would be in civil war, and we would have been divided.
"It didn't work because of the resilience understanding and the patience of Nigerian people for one another. When we say, we don't love one another. But if you watch Nigerian team playing football, you would see how everybody comes together and start saying Nigeria first," he opined.
Fani-Kayode further said that although we have our differences, we can talk about them. He claimed those fanning embers of war in the country want carnage, our blood to flow, our flesh to be hacked, our wives and children to be murdered and raped. He further said these cowards have their eyes fixed on our crude oil.
In another https://t.co/05RsKDYfmP, he also claimed that Nigeria has been targeted and hated, saying only few Nigerian leaders understand this. To buttress his argument further, he asked why has Nigeria not gotten help from international community. Why is it that America flew all the way into Nigeria and Niger Republic to save one American citizen? Why is it that they can't tell us where all these girls[Boko Haram abducted girls] are via satellite? Why can't they tell us that tell us anything? Why is it that it is not reported on CNN, Al Jazeera or BBC every day? He asked.
