Oby Ezekwesili defends herself after being accused of rejecting appointments because of pride

Oby Ezekwesili is one of the few folks held in high esteem when it comes to politicking in Nigeria. She had occupied a handful of governmental and international position, all of which she was adjudged to have done well. However, she has also refused top-notch positions from the government. She refused the ministerial appointment on two occasions which was offered to her by Yardua and Goodluck Jonathan. As result of this, many have accused her of dodging responsibilities because she is proud and afraid of performing up to expectations. In reply to one of Aisha Yesufu tweets, she finally cleared the air and gave reasons for rejecting some appointments offered to her in the past.

Oby Ezekwesili started off her political career under Obasanjo administration. She was made the head of the budget monitoring and price unit. Later on, she was made the minister for solid minerals; a job which she performed excellently well. Many faulted her for criticizing Buhari administration despite doing nothing to alleviate the situation even when she was given the chance. Bashir Ahmad, the media aide to the president reveled that the president wanted an Igbo to be his vice president in the 2011 elections but she turned the offer down. Many had suspected that the woman she was referring to was Oby Ezekwesili

Going by the reactions to the tweets, many were not happy with her. They were of the opinion that she has no right to complain because she has done nothing to help the situation even when she had the chance.
