A Human Rights Activist and Social Analyst, Mr. Victor Ojei, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, may fail to have a candidate for the Delta state Governorship election in the forthcoming 2023 general polls (Punch).
The Activist made this declaration recently, while reacting to the continuous leadership crisis within the Delta PDP, and the omission of its Governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, from the INEC list due to the ongoing court case. Explaining his stance, Ojei declared: "The reason why the PDP candidate was not on the list was probably INEC received letter from Edevbie, notifying them about the court judgment. As I speak to you now, the judges are on vacation, which most likely to end in the second week of September".
Notably, Ojei appears convinced that given the limited time, the issues surrounding the PDP ticket for the Delta state poll, may prevent the party from fielding any eligible candidate in 2023. The visible question is, why have the PDP leaders failed to close ranks despite this growing risk?
