Ize-Iyamu and Don Pedro
Ize-Iyamu said he couldn't have plagiarized the Simple Agenda, calling the allegation wild and frivolous.
The Convenner of a socio- political group, the Midwest Movement, Dr Don Pedro Obaseki , has alleged that that APC governorship Candidate, of parading a stolen campaign manifesto, he tagged SIMPLE Agenda.
Don Pedro Obaseki had said ; “My SIMPLE idea is an acronym for Security and Social Welfare; Infrastructure Development and Urban Renewal; Manpower Development and Training; Public-Private Partnership; Leadership by Example and Employment for youths in Edo state. This is the same as what the Osagie Ize-Iyamu and those supporting him are parading as their campaign manifesto for the governorship election".
But in his reaction, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said his claims ”are not only frivolous, but could put him(Pedro Obaseki) in serious trouble with the law.
"Don Pedro Obaseki first attempt to claim ownership of the SIMPLE agenda, an acronym and manifesto conceived and developed by the All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was during an interview on Ben TV, thinking that he could use the mental strength of another man to make himself look good without his knowledge or notice.”
In a statement by the Chairman, Edo State APC Media Campaign Council, Mr John Mayaki: ” The APC governorship candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu had invited Pedro Obaseki and a few other individuals to a discourse via a meeting in 2013 in the residence of Mr Osaretin Edosomwan where he shared the SIMPLE agenda idea, a through his thoughts on how to move the people of Edo State forward, and he stated clear terms to run for the office of Governor on the manifesto.
Don Pedro Obaseki
" its a fact, that he(Pedro Obaseki) held series of interviews, claiming that the idea of the SIMPLE agenda originated from Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu .
Recall that Don Pedro Obaseki supported Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s governorship campaign in 2016 which he lost to Godwin Obaseki, after his own governorship bid suffered a setback. He also campaigned with the same manifesto and acronym that is being fought over now.
