Asiwaju Tinubu's 69th Birth Anniversary Signifying Ambivalent Perceptions

Asiwaju's 69th birth anniversary signifies the ambivalent perceptions people have about him. People see him differently, with some perceiving him from the point of 6 and others seeing him from the point of 9, depending on where each category of people stands.

People, from all regions in Nigeria, whose lives Asiwaju has touched immensely positively, directly and indirectly, would see him as that detribalized Nigerian politician who does not care about the part of the country you come from before he brings solid opportunities to serve and prosper your way. If anybody cares to ask about the evidences of his detribalization and large heartedness, I ask the person to go and examine what Asiwaju's cabinet looked like as the governor of Lagos state between 1999-2007! And as we speak, today in Lagos, we see a microcosm of Nigeria in Lagos where all Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion are given fair opportunities to serve, lead and prosper. This is one divide of the perceptions backed with empirical instances.

Another divide of the perceptions belong to those who see Asiwaju Tinubu as part of the callous coterie of Nigerian politicians, forgetting that the man, Tinubu, has made more successes out of people than any other politician in the country. He's variously tagged a thief, a selfish politician, a sellout, and an usurper of power. To those who hold tenaciously to this perception, we ask them to avail us of empirical evidences of what they perceive Asiwaju to be.

As Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks another glorious year today, it suffices as prayers to beseech Allah to grant him more years, excellent health, moral and political courage to be able to bring Nigeria out of sociopolitical and economic doldrums when he eventually becomes the official President of Nigeria on May 29, 2023!

Blissful birth anniversary to Jagaban Borgu!
