Senate President, Ahmed Lawan denies taking N2 billion bribe to confirm Yakubu as INEC chairman

The Nigerian senate President,Ahmed Lawan has come out to clear the air and refute the claim that he collected a whopping sum of 2 billion naira as bribe to make sure that the current INEC chairman, professor Mahmood Yakubu was reappointed.

Ahmed Lawan's reaction was detailed in a statement released by his aide, Ola Awoniyi. It was allegedly reported that a group that was headed by the senate President collected 2 billion naira bribe form INEC chairman to ensure that the President,Mohamodu Buhari reappointed him.

The senate President has now come out to tell the people to disregard such news as it was just a fallacy. He went on to say that the source of such absurd acclamation failed to give out the names of the members in the unreal group.

The Senate President urged the people not to believe the accusation as it was just a hallucination by people operating news platform as the online media.
