According to a statement on Wednesday, the meetings to be held in London on Friday will focus on the issues around a just and equitable energy transition towards the attainment of the global target of Net-Zero emissions by 2050.

Recall that Osinbajo who had spoken earlier at the UN High-Level Dialogue on Energy had been articulating the Federal Government’s view on the Net-Zero emissions target.

The spokesman to the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, confirmed that Osinbajo would be representing the Buhari at the event being organised by the UN energy conference this weekend in London.

How police take bullets for others

I might sound metaphorical but the reality is that the Nigeria Police Force has been at the receiving end of everything bad in this country; backlash, insults, humiliation, poor remunerations, total and absolute disrespect, yet they swallow all these with virtually ‘empty stomach’, insignificant welfare packages and absolute negligence on the part of government.

It’s been there for a while now and has become something of a lifestyle for the public to single the police out and put them on the crucifix, something they cannot try with other security agencies especially the army.

Agreed they have had some bad eggs that had tarnished their image, and this they do at the snap of every finger and have not tried to cover themselves in glory in any form leading to the formation of so many security outfits.

Most recently, there was a protest by the people tagged #EndSARS which came as a result of their incessant misdemeanors, killing, raping, stealing and maltreatment of the public, without caring about people’s feelings. But we know that there are still some policemen out there who are good people, who are patriotic Nigerians that want to carry out their assignments very well irrespective of the difficult conditions they found themselves.
