Kwara State First Lady Visits Asa-Dam, Reiterates The Governor's Commitment To The People's Welfare

Earlier today, the First Lady of Kwara State and Founder, Ajike People Support Centre, Her Excellency, Ambassador, Dr. Mrs. Olufolake Abdulrazaq visited Asa-Dam, Ilorin, one of the water dams in the State.

Ambassador Abdulrazaq during her visit to the dam was conducted around the facility by the General Manager, Kwara State Water Cooperation Engineer Shehu Umar, and other staff of the Agency on duty.

The First Lady embarked on a routine visit to check on the state of affairs of the Asa-Dam facility and how it has been improving as the last time she visited there was just before the 2019 elections that ushered the administration to power.

The GM, Kwara State Water Cooperation, Shehu Umar during the facility tour assured the First Lady that the Asa-Dam is working efficiently and optimally and has the capacity to supply water to the entire Ilorin metropolis adequately.

There has been constant supply of water to the people of Ilorin since the beginning of this administration and this is not possible without the administrative support of Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, he added.

Ambassador Abdulrazaq while reiterating Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's adherence to the (SDG-6) Goals that people have access to drinkable water also commended the General Manager and other staff of the Asa-Dam for the good work they're doing at the facility to ensure every household in the state have access to potable water.

It is also on record that the Kwara State Government through the Ministry of Water Resources has dug about 500 boreholes and the administration has also fixed nine waterworks across the state and is constructing new ones across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.
