LP Vows To Challenge Election Results In Court

The Labour Party (LP) has vowed to challenge the results of the Saturday's presidential and National Assembly elections, faulting the process of collating the result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying it will challenge the outcome in court.

The party in a statement issued on Sunday in Kaduna State, alleged that most of its members were deliberately disenfranchised through varied means across the country, but were prevalent in its strongholds.

Peter Obi Wins In Jonathan's Polling Unit

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, has won in the polling unit of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke – Unit 39, Ward 13, Otuabula, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

Obi polled 94 votes to defeat the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, who scored 43 votes and the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who scored 16 votes.


Zulum Announces N1bn Emergency Relief Market Fire Victims

Following a major fire outbreak which has largely raised down the Maiduguri Monday Market, Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has in a quick statewide broadcast, announced an emergency relief of one billion naira to provide urgent support to victims, pending assessment of the incident. 

The governor’s spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau, in a statement said Zulum made a broadcast soon after he had visited the scene of the incident and had mobilized armed forces to secure the area to prevent breakdown of law and order.


Dele Momodu Advices Buhari

The Director of Strategic Communication, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, Chief Dele Momodu, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

He said Tinubu should be cautioned over a “recklessly dangerous publication unilaterally awarding an impossible victory to the APC,” by a newspaper linked to him.


INEC Collation Centre In Rivers Awaits Results From LGAs

The collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State is still awaiting physical results of the presidential and national assembly elections from the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

Channels Television Reporter, Reuben Okwa, who arrived the state INEC collation centre on the popular Aba Road in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital in the early hours of Sunday, reports that the centre is yet to come alive with activities as few INEC officials could be seen.
