Czech President Unveils Potential Timeline for Ukraine's EU and NATO Accession Talks

In line with the report from CNN; Czech President Petr Pavel has expressed his support for Ukraine's potential accession to the EU and NATO in a recent interview with Reuters.

He emphasized that this should be a long-term goal for Western countries and that Ukraine should receive support in achieving this goal.

While acknowledging that entry into these institutions requires lengthy preparation and meeting strict criteria, Pavel suggested that EU accession talks could start as early as the end of this year.

This would give Ukraine a platform for closer cooperation, assistance in post-war reconstruction, and help accelerate its approximation to European standards.

Pavel also highlighted the importance of Ukraine's economic stability for its preparation for NATO membership: "The more stable Ukraine is economically, the bigger chance it will be prepared earlier for entry into NATO."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reiterated that Ukraine is committed to NATO membership and will not consider alternative proposals.

Finally, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has made it clear that the country expects concrete steps towards its membership at the NATO summit in Vilnius in July.
