Parents and their children, relatives and siblings this days rise through different rank of the Nigerian army together, but Gen.ishaya and musa bamaiyi are the first pair that rose to the rank of been born by the same parents.
MajGen. Musa Bamaiyi(late) and his brother LtGen. Is hay a Bamaiyi ,are from a family of 12 children :8 Boys while girls are 4 in number. They hail from zuru ,in kebbi state . Ishaya is a devoted Christian while his brother Must was a Muslim.
MajGen Musa Bamaiyi the eldest of the two brothers, was born 1968 and retired in 1999 and also died in 2007.
And as LtGen Is hay a Bamaiyi the younger one,was born 1949. He was a short service commissioned into the Nigeria infantry corps (NIC) IN 1968 as a member of SSC 4. He schooled at NIGERIA DEFENCE ACADEMY (NDA).Kaduna in 1969. And hr went for advanced military training in UK and US .In march 1996 General Bamaiyi was appointed Chief Of Army Staff(COAS), by General Abacha.
