
According to a report by Punch Newspaper, the Spokesman of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga warned the Igbos never to interfere in Lagos politics again. Onanuga said that this election should be the last time the Igbos will interfere in Lagos politics and that there should be no repeat in 2027. He stated that Lagos is like Anambra, Imo and other states, and that it is not a "No Man's Land", but a Yoruba land.

Reacting to this, Festus Keyamo, SAN said that he disapproves tribal politics and that he has never in his life written or promoted one tribe over another, even during campaigns. Festus Keyamo said that no one should ever anger or annoy a whole Tribe and that it should apply to all sides in Nigeria.
