In what some may term a rescue mission, the governor of Rivers state, Gov Nyesom Wike showed his street credibility again by storming the residence of the fmr NDDC MD, Joi Nunieh to rescue her from an alleged house arrest by men of the police force.
The fmr MD had this morning, put a distress call across to ARISETV informing the station of the presence of some policemen around her premises.
Recall she was billed to address the house of reps investigative panel today in Abuja and give her own side of the story on the ongoing Niger Delta forensic audit ordered by the president.
For a while now, the fmr NNDC Boss has been embroiled in a war of words with Sen Akpabio, the minister of the Niger delta who many finger as being a part of her woes this morning.
In a swift action, the Gov stormed her residence and whisked Nunieh to the Rivers state gov house.
Recall the gov had earlier warned that no harm should come to Nunieh as she is a daughter of the state.
Nigerians on twitter have showered praises on Gov Wike for the act. According to a majority, Wike has shown how much he holds citizens of his state to high esteem and has refused to bow down to any intimidation.
From video clips of the incidence, the Governor drove with his full entourage with pressmen included, to the house of the fmr NDDC Boss, he reportedly ordered all the policemen out of the compound and proceeded to take Nunieh in his own official car out of the location.
If all things go well, Nunieh will be on her way to Abuja to face the panel.
