News Headlines: Amotekun commander faces panel; I will rather resign than being controlled –EFCC Boss

Osun State Field Commander of Western Security Network (AKA) Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu has been called upon to made himself available in front of the State government disciplinary committee for some interrogation.

P.M. NEWS gathered that, Shittu had made a publication through facebook where he criticised Dr. Charles Akinola, the Chief of Staff to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. Shittu described Akinola as an opportunist and a liability.

To addressed the situation, Osun State Governor, Oyetola has hereby directed a Committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, to see into the matter and submit the proceedings of their intervention within 72 hours.

Meanwhile the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, has threatened to resign as EFCC Chairman if some people will be in a corner and want him to do against his will and against the code of conduct that established the commission.

As reported by THE NATION NIGERIA, The EFCC boss says that the law gives rooms for EFCC to investigate bankers assets. He made this known when he featured in a program "One-on-One" on Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA).

Bawa said he shall steer the affairs of the commission (EFCC) with the rule of law and fear of God. The chairman who said the commission is under his watch said, “I will continue to do what is right.

Therefore, he said If anybody ask him to do anything which do not goes with his will or the rule of law, he will resign his appointment”. He therefore identified corruption as an impediment of sustainable growth of the country.

Do you think Bawa will be the best Boss EFCC would ever had? Can we describe him as the round peg in the round hole (EFCC)? Share your thoughts in the comment section below…
