APC Governors Visit Bello Matawalle Ahead Of Defection
Ahead of the imminent defection of Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and governor of Kebbi state, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu yesterday led a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) bigwigs to Zamfara state.
Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, as well as Jigawa state governor, Abubakar Badaru were also part of those who visited Zamfara, where they commiserated with governor Matawalle over a recent market fire in Gusau, the state capital.
Leader of the delegation, Governor Atiku Bagudu acknowledged the efforts of Governor Matawalle in ensuring the return of peace in the state and offered support and solidarity through a donation of N50 million to the victims calling on the general public to be more careful in order to prevent a recurrence.
Another Prominent Politician Backed For Presidency
In the quest to make sure a prominent politician becomes the president in 2023, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, on Tuesday declared his support for the National leader of of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
He described Tinubu as a qualified Nigerian who has all it takes to govern the country.
Fasoranti made this statement when Tinubu supporters in the five South-West states under the auspices of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid him a courtesy visit in his residence in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, says he cannot persuade governors to meet the workers’ demands by implementing financial autonomy for the judiciary.
In May 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari had granted financial autonomy to the legislature and judiciary across the 36 states of the country.
The order makes it mandatory for all states to include the allocations of both the legislature and the judiciary in the first-line charge of their budgets.
