President Buhari today Friday 25 February 2021 met with the new Economic and Financial Crimes Commission new chairman Albdurasheed Bawa in a closed door meeting held in the state house Abuja today. The new chairman was screened and confirmed by the Senate on Monday according to report.
More so, Bawa arrived on Friday afternoon and immediately enter a close door meeting with the President, which according to report may not in turn strengthening the anti corruption war. During this screening, by the Senate on Wednesday, Bawa stated his vision for the EFCC, saying he will institutionalize a standard operating procedure.
He however, stated that he want to create a standard operating policy such that all that is done will be written down in document according to him, to cut down the use of discretion from the office of the Executive Chairman. He said, he is looking forward to an EFCC whereby he will give an instruction to a junior officer and he will look at his face and say sir, I will be able to carry it out
because of this.
Finally, he also said that he is looking forward to collarborate with other law enforcement agencies both national and international, so as to bring Nigeria to an anti corrupt countries.
