The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), is a mandatory one-year program for all graduates of Nigerian origin who are below the age of 30 years upon graduation.
However, Shehu Gazali Sadiq, one of the products of the scheme, has taken to social media to appreciate the Igbo people for making his service year memorable.
Shehu Sadiq disclosed that he served in Umunuko Ukpor, Nnewi-South Local Government Area of Anambra State, and he is forever thankful for the great hospitality he enjoyed during his time in the state.
On his Twitter page, he revealed: “I will never stop thanking Igbo people of Anambra State, particularly the people of Nnewi South for their wonderful hospitality during my NYSC program in the late 90s.
“They treated me like their blood children. First six months I enjoyed free accommodation & food. Igbos are love.”
His tweet has generated several reactions on Twitter as many Igbo indigenes have showered him with praises for speaking up about his love for his former host.
