Mr Olusegun Obasanjo said he would continue to criticize President Muhammadu Buhari until he improves his style of governance. He revealed that he is qualified to criticize any government policy and leaders in Nigeria found wanting in the discharge of their sole duty.
It was gathered that Mr Olusegun Obasanjo opposed President Muhammadu Buhari's re-election bid and thrown his support behind Atiku Abubakar. Obasanjo revealed that he has no personal issue with Buhari, adding that there is always a room to criticize a policy in democracy.
”In a democracy, you criticise a policy, a government or a leader. Democracy is not a family affair, even if it’s my brother that is there, and he is not doing what I believe he should do, he must be criticised that is what democracy is all about, criticism,” he said.
Olusegun Obasanjo said he remained the only longest serving Nigerian leader and as such, he had seen it all.
”So when I say something, I know what I am saying. So if I say anybody in government in Nigeria is not doing well, let that government prove that it is doing well."
Do you think the advice, "improve your style of governance" is a good idea? What is that one area you think Buhari should improve on? Share your thoughts.
