NCDC Reports 520 New Cases Of COVID-19
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 520 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the new cases were reported in a post on the disease control agency’s Twitter handle on Sunday night, February 14, 2021.
The newly reported cases bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 146,184 which includes 120,838 discharged cases and 1,752 deaths.

The Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, has appealed to Nigerians to seek Allah’s intervention to save the country from the looming crisis, particularly the current farmers-herders conflicts.
The monarch, who made plea when he received the Yoruba community in Bauchi State in his palace, tasked Nigerians irrespective of their religious affiliations to turn to God in this trying period and seek His divine intervention.
The emir advised politicians to be mindful of their utterances in order to deescalate the current tension.
Gumi Speaks On Herdsmen With Arms
Ahmad Gumi, a prominent Islamic cleric, says herdsmen had to take up arms to defend themselves against brutality, since the government neglected them.
The cleric had described bandits as very shy people, who are only interested in their cows.
Speaking when he featured on Politics on Sunday, a programme on TVC, he also blamed Nigerians for contributing to insecurity.
PDP Warns Buhari Over Fuel Price
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has kicked against plans by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to further increase fuel price in Nigeria.
PDP in a statement revealed that it is aware of discussions and consultation in the APC administration geared towards a further increase in fuel price from N170 to a higher figure.
The PDP warned that any further increase would amount to pushing the already impoverished Nigerians to the wall; a situation that might result in public restiveness and acerbation of agitations in the land.
