1. Sanitation: Makinde sets up new task force, harps on hygienic environment
GOVERNOR Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, in his bid to ensure a hygienic environment, has set up a new environmental task force with a view to curbing environmental nuisance and indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the state.
Dr. Bello revealed that the task force committee has membership is drawn from various stakeholders, an association of market men and women, artisans, youths, Nigeria Medical Association, Nigeria Bar Association and International Federation of Women Lawyers, representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria and Muslim wing.

Segun Abraham, one of the governorship aspirants for the Ondo elections on the APC roaster has withdrawn his candidacy saying he has no trust at all in the party’s Ondo primary elections process but has deterred the Chairman of the Ondo APC governorship Primary election, Yahaya Bello insisting the primary would still take place today.
The aspirant Olusegun Abraham who is said to be a close associate of the party’s National Leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu pulled out of the Primaries on Monday Morning – just some few hours to the commencement of the exercise. This was made known to the media by Media Officer of Mr Olusegun Abraham Campaign Organisation, Kunle Adumashi confirming the latest development.
4. JUST IN: Many Killed In Fresh Kaduna Attack
Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed 19 persons in Kukum Daji village in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack which happened at around 10:30 on Sunday night left over 30 persons with various degrees of injuries.
The unknown gunmen were heavily armed with rifles and other dangerous weapons.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday, Yashen Titus, President of the Community’s Development Association, said the victims were shot dead at an after wedding party in one of the houses in the community.
5. 556 New Cases Of Coronavirus Recorded In Nigeria
556 new cases of Coronavirus was recorded in Nigeria on Sunday July 19, as confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The agency shared the number of new cases on Twitter.
A breakdown of the new cases across states is as follows; Edo-104, Lagos-97, FCT-70, Benue-66, Oyo-61, Kaduna-38, Plateau-28, Osun-19, Akwa Ibom-14, Rivers-13, Katsina-13, Ondo-13, Ogun-6, Kano-5, Nasarawa-4, Gombe-2, Ekiti-2, Borno-1.
6. Breaking: NDDC Acting Chairman Slumps During Hearing
The acting MD of the NDDC, Professor Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei, while speaking at the hearing slumped and was immediately rushed down to the hospital, bringing the hearing to a pause as the committee declared 30 minutes break to continue with the meeting.
The Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has momentarily slumped during a presentation before the committee set up to investigate the alleged misappropriating of funds in the commission.
Although there were suggestions that the session should be postponed, authorities, however, insisted that it would continue with the investigation of the alleged mismanagement of N81.5 billion by the interim management of the NDDC headed by Pondei.
